NHL draft lottery results 2017: Devils win first overall, Avalanche to pick 4th after stunning draw

The 2017 NHL draft lottery offered some high drama on Saturday night, as the New Jersey Devils jumped from fifth overall to claim the first overall pick.

The Dallas Stars and Philadelphia Flyers also made huge leaps. The Flyers jumped from 13th overall to second overall and the Stars jumped from eighth overall to third overall.

With an offense that ranked No. 5 in the NBA with 109.2 points per game during the regular season, and a defense that ranked in the bottom 10 league-wide, allowing 107.2 points per game, the Wizards are obviously comfortable shooting out with anybody.

That plan can backfire when facing another excellent offensive team like Boston, but Washington will continue to live and die by it and hope to be on the right side of the high score this time around. Washington is 7-1 SU and 4-4 ATS in its last eight games at home.

With 234 points scored in Game 1 and 248 points scored in Game 2, there has been no shortage of excitement early on in this series. The tempo should remain the same in Game 3, which could be a good indicator of how long this series figures to go.
